EL PASO, Texas —

An east El Paso coffee shop was broken into Friday morning, and the robber only took syrup, according to the shop's owner.

Around 4:30 a.m., a man allegedly used a rock to break a window at Pinup Express Coffee located on 1613 N. Zaragoza Rd., according to the shop's owners.

"I got here to work, a normal day. I come in and there's a big hole in the window," said Haley Garcia, a barista.

Garcia said that when she started her shift at 6 a.m., the window was broken and there was glass around the shop.

Garcia described the man in the surveillance video as young and possibly intoxicated.

Surveillance video shows a man with a long sleeved shirt and cap inside the coffee shop at 4:22 a.m.

Garcia was hoping that the robber was not still in the building when she arrived.

"I just stayed out of there, hoping nothing was gone really, so I could start the day and give everyone their coffee," Garcia said.

The coffee shop has baristas dress up like pin-up models from the 1940s and 1950s.
