Officials: Sex offender who failed to register found in Fabens

El Paso County Sheriff's Department

FABENS, Texas —

A sex offender that El Paso County sheriff's deputies said failed to register after he moved to Fabens has been arrested.

Deputies said 32-year-old Raymond Morales was arrested in the 100 block of NW K Street in Fabens after deputies tried to verify his address in the 1100 block of Blackmon Street in El Paso.

After deputies discovered he was no longer living on Blackmon Street, they said they found out he had been living with a girlfriend in Fabens.

Morales had been labeled as an absconder, a person who hides oneself to avoid arrest or prosecution, on Aug. 9 for failing to notify deputies of his address change as required by law.

Deputies arrested Morales and booked him into the El Paso County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Deputies said Morales had previous convictions on a sex offender's duty to register charge and is on probation for the same offense.
