Northeast Residents Evacuated Due To House Fire

EL PASO, Texas —

Residents in northeast El Paso were evacuated from their homes Friday after a fire broke out on the 5700 block of Creston Avenue.

Lt. Mario Hernandez with the El Paso Fire Department said when crews arrived at the scene about 4:33 p.m., flames were coming from the garage.

Fire crews blame an unattended candle for starting the blaze, and causing $75,000 in damages to the home.

Residents in the area were evacuated safely, said Hernandez.

The American Red Cross was at the scene to provide any additional help.

Hernandez said no one was injured in the fire.
