NMSU Starts Website For Garden Questions

LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

New Mexico State University has launched a website to help with gardening questions in the state.

The Las Cruces-based university says much of the information already is available as printed publications through county Extension agents and on the website for NMSU's College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences.

But officials said the recently launched Desert Blooms website links various horticultural websites together to make it easier for home gardeners.

It also includes a plant selector feature and a library of how-to videos.

The college's webmaster, Connie Padilla, said people can search the plant database to find what's best for their yard.

Cooperative Extension Service director Jon Boren calls it a one-stop site for publications dealing with gardening and landscaping questions and issues.

The Desert Blooms website is at http://desertblooms.nmsu.edu/.
