LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

The New Mexico State Aggies advance to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row.

Fresh off their win Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Western Athletic Conference tournament championship game, the New Mexico State Aggies
men's basketball team returns to the Sun City Sunday.

"You already know your ticket has been punched," Aggies Head Coach Marvin Menzies said talking about their WAC win.

The No. 13 seed NMSU will go up against No. 4 seed the St. Louis Billikens this coming Thursday.

Menzies seems cautiously optimistic his players will pull of a good couple of games based on this season's performance.

"You knew if you took care of business, you could quite possibly win the whole thing," Menzies said.

Then, if the Aggies pull off a win, the team goes up against Oklahoma State or Oregon.

The chance to take on such big teams has senior forward Bandja Sy looking forward to
showing off what the team is made of.

"It's going to be a pretty good
matchup for us," Sy said.

The NCAA games are not only a chance to show off to a national audience, it's also a chance to earn some big bucks.

KFOX 14 reported last year for every game a team played, it earned more than $200,000.

Plus, for the players, a good performance during these games could help with the NBA draft down the road.
