NM Spaceport Awards Visitor Experience Contract

LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

The New Mexico Spaceport Authority has awarded the contract for developing the visitor experience at Spaceport America to Integrity Arts & Technology, Inc.

The contractor will be doing business as IDEAS. The acronym stands for Innovation, Design, Entertainment, Art and Storytelling.

The company was awarded a two-phase, 27-month contract. The value is capped at $7.5 million.

IDEAS will oversee the design and development of the visitor experience, as well as the design, fabrication and installation of exhibits and attractions for spaceport visitors.

The company will also do market research and enhance spaceport branding and marketing.

The company's list of clients includes Walt Disney theme parks and resorts, Universal Studios and branches of the U.S. military.

The initial visitor experience is expected to be operational in the first half of 2013.
