WASHINGTON —
After 30 years as a New Mexico senator, Jeff Bingaman is retiring.
Bingaman, a Democrat, first announced his retirement in February 2011. He was first elected to the Senate in 1982.
On Thursday, Bingaman gave a lengthy retirement speech in which he reminisced on his term as Senator.
