NM Political Parties Spent $1M, Mostly On Mailers

SANTA FE, N.M. —

The state Republican and Democratic parties have spent more than $1 million since early October.

The GOP reported expenditures of $630,000 in its latest campaign finance disclosure. The Democratic Party spent $504,000.

Republicans paid nearly $500,000 for candidate mailers. Democrats spent almost $390,000 on direct mail.

The GOP raised $570,000 from Oct. 5 through Oct. 26. Democrats collected $429,000.

The Republican Governors' Association gave $185,000 to the state GOP and gubernatorial nominee Susana Martinez contributed $114,000.

The New Mexico Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee gave $194,000 to the state party. Florida and Missouri state Democratic Party organizations contributed $155,000.

The GOP had cash-on-hand of $51,600 and the Democrats had $29,000.
