New Payment Device Could Help Those With Bad Credit Get A Car

April 29, 2006 —

A new device called the on-time system is an electronic starter that is used to turn credit challenged prospects into paying customers.

The on-time payment system is a little black box that is installed below a steering wheel that can be seen inside the car. Each time a customer needs to make a car payment, the little black box will beep to remind them. If the customer doesn't make a payment within five days of the warning, the system will de-activate the car.

The only place that sells the device in El Paso is Barnett Auto Sales, and the general manager, Kurt Kammerer said they've installed it into over 500 cars. "People come in and when that little green light turns to red the car starts beeping, they know it is time to make a payment. Otherwise they will be walking".

The system also solves some finance dilemmas by making it possible for a vehicle buyer to purchase and finance a vehicle.

"For one thing you can take a little more chances because even the people, you know are going to have a hard time collecting, they will pay, because if they want to drive they will make their payment," said Kammerer.

Kammerer also said the system will never stop your car while you are driving. It will only prevent you from starting it, if you haven't paid.
