Mustang Crashes On Sharp Curve

EL PASO, Texas —

A Mustang slammed head-on into a pickup around 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Lower Valley. Police said the driver was heading westbound on Delta Drive near Auburn Avenue. Authorities said the driver was a Hispanic man in his 20s and died at the scene. Police said the driver of the pickup and passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Neighbors said this area has seen a number of wrecks over the years, since Delta Drive makes a sharp and sudden curve. Gilbert Chin, a Lower Valley resident said, “It’s always different accidents. Either fender-benders or you know, and it’s always the drivers’ fault." Neighbors said they want the city to step in to help warn drivers about this potential danger. Authorities said the crash is under investigation and do not know the exact cause of the crash or whether any charges will be filed.
