LAS CRUCES, N.M. —
After an interview with our news partners, the Las Cruces Sun News, Mrs. Claus got let go from her job.
Gail Larkin, Mrs. Claus, had reported to the Las Cruces Sun News that she had her SUV stolen from the Mesilla Valley Mall on Saturday. After the story ran, she was fired.
Larkin dresses up during the holiday and brings cheer to folks who visit the Las Cruces mall.
Her SUV was stolen from the mall's parking lot while she was attending the Santa Breakfast for kids, said Larkin to the Las Cruces Sun News.
According to Larkin, she was fired by management at the mall for "negative publicity."
The former Mrs. Claus said she feels what they've done to her was "illegal and heartless."
Larkin said she had no contract and was paid in mall gift certificates.
