Mothers Relieved After Princess Party Arrest

EL PASO, Texas —

After a KFOX investigation, Laura Gonzalez of Once Upon A Time Princess Parties has been arrested and charged with four counts of deceptive business practice.

The arrest comes after half a dozen mothers came to KFOX claiming to have given Gonzalez at least $100, but Gonzalez never showed up to the parties.

"The county attorney's office has filed criminal charges for the crime of deceptive business practice against Laura Gonzalez," said Assistant County Attorney Kent Sutton. "When somebody takes money up front and then they intentionally do not deliver services, you know, it's like depriving those people of their money as if they picked their pocket."

Sutton said the case is still pending.

"[KFOX] is doing the public a service by letting them know about this," Sutton said.

For the alleged victims, it is the start of justice being served.

"She's doing this and she's planning it, so it is real bad for the kids," said Sandra Rico, an alleged victim. "I was glad to see it. Hopefully, this will teach her a lesson and she will stop doing this to other victims."

"I just think she deserved it, for having defrauded so many people, because there were many of us," said Gabriel Gonzalez, another alleged victim.

Sutton said more charges may be added against Gonzalez as police continue to take reports.
