Mother Claims 10-Year-Old Daughter Was Sexually Assaulted At School

Officials Question If Students Unsupervised At The Time Of Alleged Assault

By Ric Dupont

EL PASO, Texas —

The mother of an elementary student said her daughter was molested by another student, and she’s angry because nothing’s being done about it.

Luz Hendricks described the incident the way, she said, her 10-year-old daughter described it to her. The girl was sitting at her desk, when another student reached around her, with both hands, and grabbed her breast. The girl claims there was no adult supervision inside of the classroom at the time of the alleged assault.

The Clint Independent School District said its investigating whether the students were left alone. The district said, if that’s the case, it’s not standard operating procedure and they’ll figure out if anyone needs to be punished over it.

Hendricks said she was able to press charges on the suspect through the Clint Police Department Tuesday afternoon, but she wants to see action from Clint ISD.

“All they did was ask her what happened,” said Hendricks. “My daughter felt she needed more comforting. She wasn’t offered that comforting by the counselor, by the principal, or the vice principal. She feels ashamed and this boy is still going to be coming into that class.”

Clint ISD said it will keep close communication with all of the parties involved during it’s investigation.
