Mother Asks For Help Finding Son's Killer

EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help after running out of leads in a San Elizario shooting death.

Victor Escudero, 22, was found by his mother with four gunshot wounds inside his home on Oct. 17, 2009.

"I went to see my son in the morning and I couldn't get in. I was knocking and knocking and it was locked and I just heard his voice," said Hilda Escudero, Victor Escudero’s mother.

After breaking through a window, Hilda Escudero had her son rushed to a hospital where he later died.

"I know somebody knows something. I know there's people out there that know what happened," Escudero said.

But nearly five months after she found her son gunned down, deputies have made no arrests.

"Investigators had little leads, little information and no eyewitnesses. No one has really come forward to say what could have taken place," said Deputy Jesse Tovar, with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department. "It's come to a point where investigators need help. That little bit of information that could come from somebody in the community, somebody who saw something or knows something.”

Information that could lead to some closure for Victor Escudero’s family.

"Everyday I wish the person that did it, or the persons that did it, I wish they got them,” his mother said.

Deputies are also asking for information regarding the shooting death of 25-year-old Daniel Arceo, whose body was found inside a car in Montana Vista.

If you can help deputies, call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477. Anyone with information leading to an arrest in either case could qualify for a cash reward.
