EL PASO, Texas —
The FBI announced Thursday the arrests of Benjamin "T-Top" Alvarez and Carlos "Shotgun" Perea, who were serving sentences as part of a 2001 prosecution against the gang and are now accused of 11 racketeering-related counts.
Gustavo "Tavo" Gallardo, Adam "Sergio" Munoz and Roberto "Night Owl" Duran are also being charged on the same counts.
Earlier this month, seven other alleged gang members were arrested on charges ranging from murder to racketeering.
