Military Suicides Rise

The Army says the number of troops committing suicide rose for the third straight year in 2007.

An Army official said 115 troops took their own lives, nearly a 13 percent increase from the previous year.

About a quarter of those deaths occurred in Iraq.

Suicides among active duty soldiers and National Guard and reserve troops have been rising since the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq began.
