EL PASO, Texas, CIUDAD JUAREZ —

New details in the death of a 20-year-old Socorro woman were released Wednesday after her body was found in Mexico.

Mexican authorities said on Tuesday around 1 p.m. investigators found the body of Crystal Lugo wrapped up in a pink blanket in an area nearĀ a Juarez landfill.

El Paso law enforcement officials, according to Mexican authorities, contacted them about information they received from Lugo's husband, JohnnyRay Nevarez, 27. They said Nevarez contacted El Paso investigators before shooting himself to confess to Lugo's slaying. According to Mexican authorities Nevarez gave El Paso investigators information on Lugo's whereabouts in Juarez.

Nevarez was found dead inside a car on Monday night. El Paso authorities had reason to believe that Nevarez shot himself.

Lugo was killed over the weekend in El Paso, according to Mexican authorities.

An autopsy indicated that Lugo died in result of suffocation. It also revealed that Lugo was pregnant.

The Fiscalia de Mujer in Juarez said they are collaborating with FBI agents and deputies to to determine where the acts occurred -- if she was killed in El Paso or if she was crossed into Juarez alive.
