Man Tumbles Down Mountain

El Paso Fire Department paramedics were called out to Trans Mountain Road to rescue a man who tumbled about 50 feet down the mountain.

It happened at about 1 p.m. Monday, along the mountainside beneath the picnic tables on the westside of Thunderbird Mountain.

Firefighters said a 40-year-old man walked through the desert and started up the mountain when he lost his footing in the soft ground.

Rescuers said the unidentified man suffered only minor injuries that were mostly caused by the rocks and debris that came tumbling down the mountainside with him.
