EL PASO, Texas —

A man is arrested after pushing his wife and causing her to fall from I-10 in El Paso's  Lower Valley.

Officers responded to I-10 East and Airway to an "Unknown Problem" call.

Police on scene saw Rocio Herrera, 31, had fallen and was seriously injured.

Officers then detained Gutemburg Najar, 35, whom they also found on the scene, as part of the investigation. Police said he is Herrera's husband.

Police discovered Herrera and Gutemburg had been involved in an argument in their car. Then, the car came to a stop on I-10 East near Airway.

During the argument, Herrera got out of the car and walked toward the guardrail. Najar, according to witnesses, pushed Herrera, causing her to fall from I-10 on to Gateway East. She fell approximately 15 feet.

Herrera was taken to Del Sol Medical Center for treatment.

Najar was arrested and charged with aggravated assault family violence. Authorities booked him into the El Paso County Detention Facility Under a $50,000 bond.
