EL PASO, Texas —
El Paso sheriff’s deputies said Ernesto Sotelo, 57, got out of his car after it stalled on Darrington Road in Horizon City.
They said when he got out of the car a driver in a Ford pick up was headed towards Sotelo’s truck.
Sotelo tried to avoid the truck and jumped out of the way, but investigators say the driver, Jose P. Olivas, 50, also turned in the same direction and hit Sotelo.
He died at the scene.
Olivas flipped his truck over after the impact.
He was arrested and is now being charged with intoxicated manslaughter.
