EL PASO, Texas —

A homeowner in north east El Paso was awakened early Thursday morning when as a driver crashed right into his home. The homeowner said he has been living there since the 1950s and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened.

"The guy came into my house but he didn't use the door. He just drove right through the lawn, knocked the fence down and then knocked the wall down. It's kind of a surprise this time of day or any time of day," said Buddy Black, the homeowner.

The wreck happened just after 2:30 a.m. on Sanders and Raleigh drives, in front of Irvin High School.

The driver of a 2005 Ford F-150 drove into the parking lot of the high school, then exited it losing control, hit a pole, drove onto a sidewalk on Sanders Drive, struck a fence and ended up driving into the side of a home, said police investigators.

The driver left the scene before police got there.

Traffic investigators are treating the crash as a hit-and-run.

They ask anyone that has information on the driver of the truck to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477(TIPS).
