VINTON, Texas —

Tensions reach a boiling point in Vinton between a council members and at least one resident.

Residents said they are afraid for their safety after council members lashed out at them for voicing their opinions.

KFOX14 just obtained a police report in which a resident who is very vocal at Vinton council meetings describes the threats she said she received from Councilwoman Maria Medina.

The report describes how after a very heated council meeting on Tuesday, Medina approached the resident. The resident has repeatedly asked the council for water and sewer services and demanded answers from the three councilwoman who oppose it.

The report goes on to state Medina "aggressively stuck a finger in the face of the complainant and menacingly stated, 'I know where you live and what you have in your house.'"

In the report, the resident said the hostel confrontation caused her to fear for her safety and the safety of her family, but she said did not want to press charges and just wanted to file the report for documentation purposes.

Residents said the intimidation tactics are not new to Vinton politics.

As KFOX14 has reported, numerous reports have been filed against Councilwoman Juvencia Rios Ontiveros alleging assault against village employees and disorderly conduct.

Vinton Police Chief Klaus Mansions told KFOX14 there most likely will not be an arrest made regarding the incident with Medina because the resident did not want to press the matter.
