El PASO, Texas —

An El Paso Fire Department spokesperson tells KFOX14 that a toddler is in critical condition Saturday evening after a near-drowning in El Paso's far east side.

El Paso Fire Department spokesperson George De La Torre told KFOX14 that the 3-year-old boy was found in the family pool by his father at around 6 p.m. in the 12000 block of Quail Harvest Lane.

The boy's father administered CPR before taking the toddler to Sierra Providence East Medical Center. De La Torre said the boy was then flown to UMC's Children's Hospital.
