The driver of a pickup truck arrested on suspicion of drunken driving was identified by El Paso Sheriff's deputies.
Joe Machuca, 53, drove off Interstate 10 and then crashed into a ditch, said deputies.
The accident happened on North Desert Boulevard and Landfill, which is about a mile north of Transmountain Highway.
The man escaped from the truck unharmed.
Sheriff's deputies told KFOX14 Machuca was going northbound on I-10 around 2 a.m. when he veered off the highway, crossed North Loop and went down a ditch.
Deputies said he didn't have serious injuries.
They don't know how fast he was going and took down a sign.
