EL PASO, Texas —
One person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash in I-10, police said.
It happened on the I-10 west Cotton Street exit around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the man was exiting to Cotton Street when he hit a curb, rolled over, and hit two trees.
The man was driving a Ford Focus, and was allegedly drunk, police said.
Officers and witnesses at the scene told KFOX14 they could smell alcohol from a few feet away.
The man suffered minor injuries and was taken to University Medical Center.
The accident forced police and firefighters to shut down the Cotton Street off-ramp for about two hours until a tow truck could clear out the accident.
El Paso Police remind everyone they will begin a "no refusal" blood draw this Thanksgiving weekend for any driver suspected of drunken driving.
Drivers who refuse a breathalyzer test will be ordered to submit to a blood test or risk losing their license, police said.
