EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso Police have arrested two Fort Bliss soldiers involved in a high-speed chase that ended on Moonlight and Gateway North in Northeast El Paso, police said.

It happened around 10 p.m. Monday, when police chased a black, 2007 Chevy Impala believed the vehicle was used in an aggravated robbery.

According to authorities, inside the car were Fort Bliss soldiers: Tiedrick James, 21 and Davalous Brown, 18.

The alleged aggravated robbery took place in the area of Alps and Diana.

Police said James was armed with a rifle then approached the 38-year-old victim and demanded him to hand over his belongings.

When the victim handed his wallet over to James, he and Brown took off, police said.

The suspects were located by a police car on the 8600 block of Dyer and allegedly refused to stop.

The car chase ended when the Impala hit a police cruiser near Gateway North and Moonlight, police said.

According to the officers, James and Brown then took off running.

Two witnesses, who wanted to remain anonymous, told KFOX14 reporter Ruben Veloz that they saw two men running from the scene towards a park on Kenneth and Maxwell, two blocks from where the chase ended.

Dozens of police cars were seen searching the area for the suspects, authorities called in a helicopter to help with the search.

Police officials said police officers found weapons and the victim's property inside the car.

A white mini-van also involved in the chase was towed from the area of Dyer and Hercules.

Police said the crime is still under investigation.

Brown is facing aggravated robbery and evading arrest charges. He was booked into El Paso County Jail on a $8,250 bond.

James is facing aggravated robbery, evading arrest aggravated assault. His bond was set at $20,000.
