Santa Teresa, NM —

Hundreds of people in Santa Teresa were left without power after a car hit a power pole.

This happened on Airport Drive and McNutt, about a half mile west of Santa Teresa High School early Wednesday morning.

Authorities haven't confirmed how many people were in the car, or if anyone died at the scene.

An ambulance was seen leaving the scene without any lights and sirens.

Dona Ana County Sheriff's deputies and Border Patrol were assisting with the accident, directing traffic in Santa Teresa.

El Paso Electric workers were able to restore power before 5 a.m. but have yet to replace the broken power line.
