EL PASO, Texas —
A hit-and-run accident sent a woman to the hospital Thursday morning, when her car was struck from behind.
It happened on the northbound lanes of U.S. 54 about a mile north of McCombs around 3 a.m.
Police said the woman somehow lost control and got stuck between a guardrail, when another car rear ended her and drove off.
The hit-and-run driver pulled over further down the highway and ran away, police said.
The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police had to close the freeway until a wrecker crew could clear the debris.
