Four hikers stranded and rescued at Hueco Tanks State Park

El PASO, Texas. —

Four people were rescued from the Hueco Tanks State Park Wednesday night after being caught on the rocky terrain after dark.

El Paso County Sheriff's deputies received a distress call about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The two men and two women reportedly lost track of time and were unable to find their way down the rock formations in the dark.

The group was approximately 80 feet off the ground.

The sheriff's deparment's Search and Rescue Team, Montana Vista Fire Department, and a Border Patrol helicopter helped in the rescue.

No one was injured.
