EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso voters passed all three quality of life propositions, including the controversial hotel occupancy (HOT) tax, Tuesday.

The passing of the HOT rate means visitors will help pay for the $50 million baseball project, by raising the hotel tax by 2 percent.

"I can't even begin to describe how impactful and transformative this is going to be for the citizens here," said City Manager Joyce Wilson

City manager Joyce Wilson shared her excitement about the passage of all three quality of life bonds at a watch party in Downtown El Paso.

"To now end with this kind of voter turnout and voter affirmation, I just can't tell you what a wonderful feeling it is,” said Wilson.

The debate over the baseball park, and who should pay for it, brought a lot of stress to Wilson, who even apologized to her opponents.

"I was so stressed over just the conflict over the baseball park and the adversity that I was really anxious. I've been anxious for a week,"said Wilson.

The passing of propositions 1 and 2 will mean $473 million in bonds will be coming to El Paso in the next 10-15 years.

The money will pay for projects that include parks, recreation areas, zoo improvements, a new children's museum and a multi-purpose arena.

Rick Harrow worked with other cities to pass similar measures, and says he has never seen such voter support.

"It is great news for El Paso, and now we begin the fun part of getting there," said Harrow.

Most voters agreed that the people of El Paso will benefit from the quality of life bonds.

"I lived in El Paso all of my life and it's good to see those bonds pass to greater the lifestyle of El Paso."

"I can't wait to see the economy boost," said east El Pasoan Jeff Gonzalez.

Wilson says the real work begins.

"When my time is up and all the young leaders that were in my organization right now step forward, they have a game plan. All they have to do is execute," said Wilson
