EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso police closed a northeast neighborhood for over an hour Friday morning.

The El Paso Police Department's gang unit was serving a search warrant in the 8700 block of Eclipse Street as part of an on-going investigation from a burgalry of habitation case.

SWAT teams surrounded the home around 5:30 a.m. Friday, standing by for backup.

El Paso police public information officer Darrel Petry told KFOX14 that the operation was part of an investigation involving a robbery in February.

"Many times the El Paso police department and SWAT team will execute search warrants for other units," said Petry. "It also increases the safety for the surrounding neighborhood and of course the safety to the officers."

Officers used tear gas at the home although they have not said if anyone was inside.

Eclipse Street was closed from Comstock Court through Sunrise for more than an hour.

No officers were hurt and no arrests were made in the operation.
