EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso police are investigating a shooting just outside of Alma's Bar on Dyer Street and Annette Avenue, next to Burrito House Mexican Restaurant.

Just after 10:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 9800 Block of Dyer and found one man had been shot in the leg, police said.

An officer at the scene said the shooter was severely intoxicated when the shooter first got to the bar.

He then got into some sort of argument with the bar owner after he was told he could not have any more alcohol.

Police said that is when the man got in his van and started shooting at the bar's entrance, hitting a bystander who was outside smoking at the time.

The shooting victim was rushed to University Medical Center and treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his calf, police said.

Investigators say the man shot at least 3-4 rounds at the bar before driving away.

El Paso police questioned many bar customers to piece together what happened and to get good description of the shooter.

However, at this time all that is clear is that the shooter is described as a white man in his late 60’s.
