EL PASO, Texas —

Several people are cleaning up their homes thanks to a water main break on Val Verde just south of Paisano.

The water main broke in the middle of the street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, causing gallons of water to gush out from the surface of the street.

There was so much water that people yards were flooding and going into some people's homes.

Residents, who woke up to their homes flooded, called 911 for help.

Within an hour and a half, El Paso Water Utilities was able to find the main valve and shutoff the leak.

Utility workers said the shutoff will only affect people living in the street and they hope to have it repaired by Thursday morning.
