Local Attorney Cannot Represent Clients

A federal judge ruled local attorney Mary Stillinger cannot represents three clients the government calls targets of an FBI investigation into El Paso County corruption.

Newspaper Tree, owned by El Paso Media Group, reported that U.S. District Judge Frank Montalvo ordered Stillinger to immediately terminate her representation of Charles Roarke, Mickey Duntley and Ernie Lopez and return any unearned fees.

Federal prosecutors asked the judge to disqualify Stillinger because of potential conflicts of interest in representing all three clients.
