EL PASO, Texas —

Christmas is a few hours away, and for some El Pasoans who waited until the last minute to do Christmas shopping, there are only a few hours left.

Area malls like Cielo Vista Mall and Sunland Park Mall were busy, with their parking lots filled with cars. Management at Sunland Park Mall told KFOX14 that there has been a steady flow of desperate shoppers throughout the day.

KFOX14 caught up with some shoppers trying to get last-minute gifts, and a lot of them said they would do their best to avoid shopping on Christmas Eve next year.

"(I'll go shopping) a little sooner because it's kind of hectic coming out on Christmas Eve and getting all your presents," said Lily Canate.

Another shopper, Ariana De La Canal, said she'll start her Christmas shopping in September of next year so that she won't have to wait in all the lines.

In case you still have some holiday shopping to do, here's what you need to know: The malls will close at 6 p.m., the Walmart Supercenter near Cielo Vista Mall is open until 8 p.m. Target stores are open until 9 p.m.

If that doesn't work for you Walgreens will be open until 10 p.m. or even midnight depending on the location.
