A 21-year-old woman being held at Dona Ana County Detention Center is accused of abusing of her 3-month old daughter.
According to a statement of facts obtained by KFOX, a day care worker noticed the infant had burns on her knee. She notified the baby's mother, Felicia Mendoza. Then later, Mendoza's aunt also noticed the burn and urged Mendoza to take the baby to the hospital. The aunt later discovered another much larger burn on the baby's back.
Mendoza is currently being held at Dona Ana County Detention Center, under $500,000 bond.
