WASHINGTON —
Michelle Estrada, a science teacher from Las Cruces Public Schools district was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
The award is issued annually to outstanding K-12 science and mathematics teachers from across the country.
She'll receive a $10,000 award to use at her discretion and an expense paid trip to Washington D.C. for educational and celebratory events.
