A Las Cruces man was arrested on Friday for dragging his ex- girlfriend by the hair as he drove off in a car.
David Jay, 25, was arrested by Las Cruces police on Friday evening. A Witness says Jay allegedly dragged a woman by her hair as he drove off in a car on the 2900 block of Valle Vista on Thursday morning.
Detectives learned that Jay and the woman had been arguing outside an apartment on Valle Vista and that Jay was sitting in the car with the engine running when the woman leaned into the car.
Jay allegedly grabbed her hair and drove a short distance before she fell to the ground.
The woman, 29, suffered non-life threatening injuries to her head, torso and legs.
Jay eluded arrest until Friday evening.
He is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $30,000.
