After months of planning and waiting, a project to put new drains in Lori Le Maitre's back yard is finally happening.

"Trying to get the landscapers out here has been difficult because they haven't been available, because they had other jobs. They've just been real full," said Le Maitre of Upper Valley.

The wetter-than-normal winter has been tough on homeowners, but a boon for landscapers.

"We're having to do a lot more weed control, but basically it's been very good for business actually," said Sid Steadman, owner of Master Cuts Landscaping.

Ever since the floods, getting all the work done has required some extra effort.

"We have never worked on a Sunday and we actually had to work on a Sunday this past year," said Steadman.

With Spring right around the corner, business for many landscapers is expected to get even busier.

"Once March comes around, your wait time could be a month, two, or three months," said Steadman.

For many folks looking for help with their lawns, priority appointments may get in the way.

"A lot of people don't do anything in the winter and now everybody wants to get their yards taken care of; we're still working on issues with drains and the storm even to this day," said Steadman.

While some might get frustrated having to wait for work to get done, patience could be the best advice.

"Wait for somebody who does good work. It's worth it so you won't have problems later on, if something does go wrong," said Le Maitre.
