BIO My name is a good ice-breaker and conversation starter in any situation. People are usually curious about it and in case you are wondering, yes it is my real name. I have my mother to thank for personally crafting,creating it and my Uncle Juan for coming up with the unique spelling. There is a beautiful story behind it ask me any time, I am always happy to share it. Enough about my name, I am ecstatic to join the KFOX Family as the KFOX Morning News Traffic Anchor.

I was born and raised in El Paso and proud to say I was a Loma Terrace Lion, Hillcrest Viking, Bel-Air Highlander and UTEP Miner. I graduated from the University Of Texas at El Paso in the fall of 2009. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Minor in Women’s Studies. I have been involved in a variety of activities from athletics, volunteer work, to student clubs and organizations. I consider myself fortunate that among my endeavors at UTEP, I had the opportunity to become a sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha’s Women’s Fraternity (ZTA) and a proud Alumnae, represented UTEP as the 2008 Homecoming Queen, and served as SGA’s Collegiate Senator of Liberal Arts for 2009. I was also lucky enough to be one of the Ambassadors to the Sun City, as a 2008 Sun Bowl Princess. It was one of my favorite experiences thus far and highlighted all the wonderful things El Paso has to offer. What can I say? I love the Sun City.

I am blessed to have had a number of experiences and people along the way who really fueled my passion to pursue Broadcast Journalism in particular. Becoming a co-host to the Paydirt Podcast was one of them. It is a student initiative to showcase UTEP & raise Miner Spirit.” Keep Orange, Keep It Blue, Go MINERS!” I was also a co-host for UTEP Miner Sport Weekly on Time Warner Cables Metro Sports. It showcased UTEP sports and behind the scene interviews with Coaches and players.

My experience paired with my faith, family, mentors, friends, and ZTA sisters’ love and support encouraged me to make my ambition a reality. I am dedicated to bringing you concise information about traffic, with updated information to keep you safe out on the roads. Tune in every week to get your Fast Track traffic report.

What was the first thing you ever wanted to be? Doctor/Selena -She is my favorite singer, seriously.

How might have someone described you in school? Animated, Hyper, Athletic, Humorous, Dorky, Over-Achiever and a Go-Getter

What was your first job? Village Inn Server

What advice would you have for someone going into the business? Don't hesitate, just show up! Be open minded, compassionate, think critically, ask questions, pay attention to detail and accept constructive criticism. No matter your ambition, go after it. Remember that you have to push yourself, no obstacle is to great to overcome, never lack confidence, be YOU and refuse to settle.

Favorite Music: I love music, except for heavy metal and techno, never really got into that. Listen to country most of the time, hip-hop and salsa for dancing, rock to jam out, oldies and everything else in between.

Favorite Sports Team:Born & Raised a L.A Lakers fan, Former Steelers Fan- Currently Team Shopping(any suggestions?), Yankees & Texas Rangers, UTEP Miners (in general I enjoy watching all sports and great athletes)
