Jason Williams Reinstated

December 12, 2005 —

UTEP basketball Coach Doc Sadler announced on Monday that senior forward Jason Williams' suspension would be lifted and he will return to the Miner basketball team.

Williams practiced Monday afternoon and is expected to start on Saturday against I-10 rival, New Mexico State University.

Williams was suspended last week after punching Stefon Jackson during practice, breaking the player's jaw in two places.

Williams is UTEP's lead scorer, averaging 15.4 points per game, while shooting 66 percent from the field. He had started 72 straight games for the Miners before missing Sunday's 65-59 overtime loss to Louisiana-Lafayette.
