Janice Carpio

Weathercaster/Reporter

Dust storms, heavy flooding and rain - though a menace for some it's a passion for me. Covering the news that affects you is also something I can't resist. As a Weathercaster and Reporter for KFOX News you can definitely say I get the best of both worlds.

My broadcasting career began after receiving a Telecommunications degree from the University of Florida. In Gainesville, Florida, I worked for both radio and television as a reporter, anchor and weathercaster. I received recognition for my work in television reporting by many prestigious news organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists, the Florida Associated Press and the Radio and Television News Director's Association. When it comes to weather, I am working on a Meteorology degree through Mississippi State University and I'm a member of the National Weather Association.

It is a great to be in El Paso. Raised in Miami, Florida, I really missed the qualities a big city had to offer. I understand and enjoy the region's Hispanic culture. I am truly looking forward to serving our community.
