EL PASO, Texas —

Richard P. Montanez who was recognized as one of the most influential Hispanic's in Corporate America will be a guest speaker at the annual "Fiesta Celebration and Piñata Bash!"

Montanez is responsible for the tasty creation of Flamin' Hot Cheetos that million enjoy snacking on.

He did not start off as an executive for PepsiCo. Montanez was a janitor at the company when he discovered his creation.

The day a machine producing Cheetos broke at the plant where Montanez worked, is the day his life would change forever.

"Richard's visit to El Paso and to our community comes at a time when businesses and individuals are searching for new ideas, and concepts," said Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Local businesses, business owners and entrepreneurs, are welcomed to hear Montanez's inspirational speech at the conference on Saturday at the Airport Wyndham Hotel from 6 to 10:30 p.m.

Tickets for chamber members are $50, $75 for non-members.

For more information, or for sponsorship opportunities, contact the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at 915-566-4066.

Montanez's invention launched him up the ladder at PepsiCo, where he's been an executive for more than 30 years. He's helped launch other products aimed at the Hispanic market and has influenced marketing promotions for Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell, also part of Pepsico, according to his biography.
