San Elizario ISD
SAN ELIZARIO, Texas —
Recent allegations at other local school districts prompted San Elizario Board of Trustees to request an internal investigation during 2011-2012. Concerns were raised by San Elizario Independent School District staff members over proper student enrollment and grade placement procedures during the 2008-2009, 2009-10 and 2010-11 school years.
That investigation, according to district officials, revealed that a former campus administrator's decisions needed immediate attention.
District officials said in January that The Texas Education Agency notified them that they had received a complaint about the district regarding the same issues that prompted the district's internal investigation.
The San Elizario School Board at this time is reviewing the findings and taking action to address situations like this one from happening in the future, said district officials.
They also said the external review and all the information developed by the San Elizario ISD have been given to the TEA.
