Inmate connected to 3 El Paso robberies

EL PASO, Texas —

An investigation reveals that a man confined at the El Paso County Jail is connected to three armed robberies.

Police investigators who were working on three separate robbery cases where a man used a gun and got away.

The first two robberies happened on Dec. 28. Around 9 p.m. a man was robbed at gunpoint and had his wallet stolen, said police. Soon after, just before midnight, the 7-Eleven at 6100 Trowbridge St. was robbed at gunpoint.

Police said the suspect walked in, threatened two employees with a handgun and got away with cash, beer and tobacco products.

On Jan. 27, the same 7-Eleven was robbed in a similar way, police said.

During their investigation, police learned that 25-year-old Jeremy Scot Strawhun was the suspect in all three robberies.

Strahun was already booked at the El Paso County Jail on a fugitive warrant for family violence assault charge out of Harris County, Texas.

Detectives said the found the gun Strahun was using and figured out it was toy pistol.

He was re-booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on three charges of robbery with a total bond of $304,000.
