House Passes Pentagon Spending Bill

It seems like the House of Representatives is going along with Defense Secretary Robert Gates' plan to kill the budget for the F-22 fighter jet.

The House passed a $636 billion spending bill Thursday for items like a new presidential helicopter fleet, but it would not include the F-22 jet.

The bill also had the bill also contains $128 billion for Pentagon operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, which would bring the total appropriated by Congress for those wars and other efforts to combat terrorism to over $1 trillion.
