Three children recover from burns they received from food cooking on the stove.
It happened Friday night at the FDR Apartments in Northeast El Paso.
Investigators say the mother was only turned away for a minute when a three year old boy opened the oven door and climbed on top of it, tilting the stove and spilling a boiling pot of beans on top of the children ages one, two, and three.
The children received first and second degree burns.
The fire department ruled the incident accidental, but the police department's Crimes Against Children division is also conducting an investigation.
