EL PASO, Texas —

Wednesday is the last day for people who are accused of writing hot-checks to pay their fine before their names and address is posted on the El Paso County's website on April 1.

The effort to help remind hot-checks writers is being carried out by the El Paso County Attorney's Office. Once the names are published, there will be a roundup of people with warrants out.

Not only will the information be posted on the county website, media outlets will also receive the long list.

The list, according to the County Attorney's Office, includes approximately 2,700 names. The amount of money owed to businesses all across El Paso from these hot-check writers is an estimated $2 million.

The hot-check fines can be paid at the El Paso County Courthouse.
