Homes Sales On The Rise In Las Cruces

Almost everywhere one looks in Las Cruces, new homes are being built. It's a sign of the healthy housing market local realtors said continues to flourish in Las Cruces.

"In some places, values have gone down, but that's just not what's happening here," said Al LaTorre of Century 21.

Nationwide, the housing market shows signs of struggle. Although new home sales rose last month, the housing market shows a downward trend. In fact, the price of homes sold in August fell to $237,000.

However, according to Steinborn Realtors, home sales in Las Cruces are right on track with last year.

It's a trend that has no sign of slowing down. "I don't really anticipate that that will change drastically. Maybe we won't continue to see the kind of appreciation that we've seen in the last year, but I don't see that our market all of a sudden is going to go the other way," said LaTorre.
