EL PASO, Texas —

Police responded to the 4100 block of Dyer Street in Central El Paso at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday in response to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.

The pedestrian received serious injuries after crossing the street and was struck by a southbound vehicle, police said.

The pedestrian was not walking in a marked crosswalk, police said.

As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

The motorist is said to have stopped, but then fled the scene of the accident, police said.

Police are now looking for what may have been a light-gray -colored vehicle, and they are still investigating this incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the El Paso Police Department at 915-832-4400.
